Purpose
Salient Practice Management provides executive management and professional resources for practices of physicians employed by hospitals; freeing the hospital to focus on organizational growth and development, and enabling the employed physician to focus on clinical responsibilities and practice growth.
Background
There has been, in recent years, a significant increase in the complexity of managing a physician's practice. Coupled with other industry pressures such as sky-rocketing malpractice premiums and overhead costs, the frustration levels of many physicians are increasing while their incomes are decreasing.
As a result, hospitals and MD's increasingly are finding hospital employment a more attractive alternative to independent practice.
The Challenge
While hospital employment has beneficial features, hospitals have not historically performed admirably in the management of the typical physician's practice. There are many reasons for this, but it may begin and end with the simple fact that the management of hospitals and physician practices require different skill sets and professional experiences. Hospitals are complex operations, as well, and many senior leadership teams may become over-saturated in the attempt to both employ physicians and manage their practices.
The Salient Alternative
Salient Practice Management was formed in 2008 to provide the focus and expertise required to effectively grow and develop the practices of physicians employed by hospitals.
